Stay Connected

It is exciting to be a part of what God is doing at Yocumtown Church of God.  If you haven’t had the opportunity to see the “Grow It Forward” garden, I encourage you to make your way up there.  Mark has been giving us updates on the progress, but it has so much more meaning when you see it in person.  You can walk up from the church parking lot, or you can pull in the driveway right beside the garden.  I’m anxious for the days when we can share our harvest with the ministries in our community.

June 5th is Mission Sunday, and we will be dedicating the garden for the Lord’s work after the morning worship service.  Please plan to stay and be a part of this special time.

This week I have been preparing for our graduate recognition weekend.  It has been a joy looking through pictures of the seniors and praying for them as they step out in faith onto the next part of their life journey.  Please continue to keep them in prayer.  This year, we are recognizing Tyler Blankenship, Madison Kinney, Braxton Meckley, Malia Peterson and Cekai Suggs.  Each one of them has been a vital part of our youth ministry.  They are all planning to attend H.A.C.C in the fall, and we hope to have them continue to ba a part of our church family.

Throughout the summer months, there are many ways you can stay connected.  The women’s Bible study will continue to meet throughout the summer and will be starting a new book in June.  This is for women of all ages who are available to meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:30.  For you working ladies, Mugs and Muffins will also meet throughout the summer on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:00 am.  The men meet each Tuesday evening at 7:00.  They love new faces so be sure to join them if you can!  The adult Sunday School classes meet at 9:00 am, and you are welcome to bring your coffee and refreshments to class.  There are also classes for your kids.

Maybe this summer, you can try something you’ve never done before.  Lara is looking for people of all ages to help with Vacation Bible School.  There is no retirement plan for Christians, so don’t think you are too old to love a child.

“Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
