How Are We Doing?

It’s the end of the year, and a good time to take the pulse of the church. How are we doing? I can say for myself that I am so privileged and so honored to be a part of what God is doing through the Yocumtown Church of God.

What a blessing it was to see so many people here on Serving Others Sunday. The response from you was overwhelming. There was plenty of food, plenty of hands to serve, and a wonderful time of fellowship and worship with our neighbors. Thank you to each person who prayed, cooked, hosted, served, ran, and loved God’s people. I know they were all blessed, and I trust that you were as well.

As we anticipate the birth of our Savior, I hope that you will continue to live with a heart of giving. There is no greater gift you could give.

2 Corinthians 9:10-15 says, “Now he who supplied seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be make rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies our confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”

Have a wonderful Christmas. I look forward to celebrating this blessed season with all of you.
