"Confess your faults to one another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed."

James 5:16

Braving the Bitter Seasons…Together

Is it cold enough for you? As I drove into the office today, the temperature was 15 degrees outside. Brrr! I am not a fan of the cold.

God’s Word says, “There is a time for everything under heaven.” What a wonderful thought! I don’t always understand what God is doing, but I trust that He is in control and has a purpose for everything, even winter. Life can be like that, too. Sometimes we go through seasons that we don’t understand or aren’t quite what we expected.

Being part of a church is more than attending a weekly worship service —┬áit’s being part of a family. It is my prayer that we at the Yocumtown Church of God love each other and take care of one another like families should. How well do you know the person who sits in the pew in front of you or behind you? What about the person who sits on the other side of the sanctuary? Maybe they are going through a difficult season in their life.

Sometime during the month, meet someone new. It could be the person you greet every week but don’t know their name or how many kids they have. It could be the new person who has only been here a few Sundays. Take them out to lunch. Invest some time with them.

Let’s help one another get through the seasons of life. Let’s play together so we can pray together.
