“Pray for the Leaders of the Church”

Each year, the church council gets together for a mini-retreat.  This is a time we set aside to deepen our relationships with one another and to seek the direction God has for our church.

This year, our speakers will be Pastor Lawrence Metzler and Pastor Chad Chute from the former Chambersburg  First Church of God, newly named Grand Point Church of God.  A few years ago, this church was one of our average-sized churches in the Eastern Regional Conference.  Today, it is the largest church in our denomination.  Pastor Lawrence and Pastor Chad are coming to share what they learned on their journey as God grew their church.

If you would like to attend the retreat, you are welcome!  Please let me know so that I can plan accordingly.  The dates are March 20th and 30th.  We start with a meal together on Friday evening at 6:00 and end around 8:00 or so.  On Saturday morning, we gather for breakfast at 9:00.  There are two sessions in the morning and we have lunch together at noon.  We are usually finished by 1:00.  Again, everyone is welcome.  You can simply come to observe; however, your input will be valued.

Please pray for the leaders of the church.  We want this to be a time where God speaks to us and we come together in unity.

Each member of the council has been called by God to serve Him by serving the YCOG.  It is their role as leaders to help grow the church in faith and in knowledge, each using their unique giftedness.

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:11-13

See you at the church!

Pastor Stef
