It’s That Time of the Year Again…

Fall is always an exciting time in the life of the church.  As we return from summer breaks, vacations, camps, and mission trips, we are ready to get back into the Word.  We are ready for our small groups to get together again.  As much as we are excited for the break that comes in the summer and that time to rest, we are anxious to get back at it.  Yay God for his perfect timing!

At YCOG, there is a place for everyone to get connected.  The men will kick off their Tuesday evening gatherings with sausage and salsa on September 5th.  All men of all ages are invited to be a part of this group.  They will continue to meet each week at 7:00pm to study the book of Matthew.

The ladies’ Tuesday morning group will also resume on September 5th.  We will be using the book, “Finding I Am: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart,” as our study guide.  If you are available on Tuesday mornings at 10:30, we would love to have you join us.  Child care will be provided for any young moms or grandmothers with small children.

The Wednesday adult class will begin meeting on September 6th at 6:30pm.  Ed Rowe will be your discussion leader.  I will be leading a young adult (recent graduates) discussion group using the study guide, “Radical,” by David Platt.

The youth will start the season off with a campfire at 6:30 on September 6th.  There will be hot dogs, s’mores, and drinks as we gather around the fire and sing camp songs.  The Kids’ Bible Club will start their regular schedule as well.  Connie Gruber and JoAnn Lattig will teach the younger elementary kids, and Sami DuMond will be teaching the upper elementary kids.  We are looking for an assistant for Sami.  We always want to have two adults in the room with our kids!

Amanda Franklin is the new Elementary Sunday school teacher.  Her class will begin on September 10th.  The adult class under the leadership of Jeanne Naglich is continuing to talk about “The Kingdom.”  The young adults and young at heart have a class on Sunday mornings that is being led by Nick DiFrancesco.  There is also interest in a couples’ class.  If you are interested in leading or participating, please let me know.

Be watching and listening as things develop and God moves in our church.  He is so faithful and is doing a good work through you.

“I thank God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:3-6

See you in church!
