OUTREACH
Adopt-A-Highway
For the past 4 years, volunteers from Yocumtown Church of God have been participating in the Adopt-a-Highway program. We have ‘adopted’ a 2-mile stretch of Whisler Road in Newberry Township and have two “clean-up” days each year. PennDot has asked that each team have one clean-up day in April and we also try to have one during the Fall season. During our last clean-up day, we cleaned a stretch of Red Mill Road where our church is located, in addition to Whisler Road. The folks at PennDot were very pleased with that decision!
We would love to welcome more helpers!! Anyone interested, please contact the church office and our church secretary, Susan, will forward your information to a member of the Outreach Team. Our next Spring clean-up day will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Volunteers will meet at the church at 9 am!!! If enough volunteers are able to participate, we will also be cleaning up the section of Red Mill Road near the church. A sign up sheet will be posted at the Welcome Center. Come and be a part of the outreach ministry!
