About Pastor Stefanie DiFrancesco

Yocumtown Church of God is pleased to introduce its senior pastor, Stefanie “Stef” DiFrancesco. Read on to learn more about our dynamic spiritual leader…

DSC_0133aStefanie DiFrancesco was born on April 29, 1967. At the age of 5, Stefanie was adopted by a Christian family who had two sons. Her new family was very involved at the Middletown Church of God, and church immediately became an important part of Stefanie’s life. She attended Camp Yolijwa for the first time when she was going into 4th grade, and it was here that she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. At age 11, she attended membership classes, was baptized and joined the Middletown Church of God. Stefanie attended Camp Yolijwa every summer and every chance she could and was a counselor for the first time when she was in high school.

Stefanie is a graduate from the Middletown Area High School. After high school, she attended Harrisburg Area Community College while she worked for the Office of Attorney General as a legal secretary and was a part-time manager at the GAP clothing store. At age 19, Stefanie married her high school sweetheart, Nick. Nick is the President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers. Nick and Stef celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary this past January.  They have two adult children, Dominic III “Nickie” and Elizabeth.  Elizabeth is married to Chris Castro and together they have two daughters, Myla and Rowan.

Stefanie was a full-time wife and mother and a volunteer youth worker when she felt God calling her to serve as the youth director at the Middletown Church of God. She was hired as an interim while the church searched for a full-time youth pastor with experience and credentials. Within a year of her employment, Stef was hired as the permanent youth director. She loved the Lord, and she loved the kids, but she knew she needed ministry training, so she attended Princeton Theological Seminary where she received a Certificate in Youth and Theology. Upon completing the program, Stef felt that she wanted to continue learning and growing, so she participated in the CPS/PTI program offered through Winebrenner Theological Seminary.

For sixteen years prior to coming to Yocumtown Church of God, Pastor Stef served the Lord in various capacities, including youth pastor and associate pastor, at three Churches of God in the Harrisburg area. She also served for many years as the secretary of the Youth and Family Life Commission, was a member of the Doubling Gap Center Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Vocations Commission.

Pastor Stef received her Certificate of Ordination in April of 2012. In July of 2012, Pastor Stef felt God’s calling on her life once again when she learned the Yocumtown Church of God was seeking a senior pastor with a heart for youth. As He continued to open doors and lead her in this direction, Pastor Stef was elated when the Yocumtown Church of God selected her to serve as their spiritual leader. Her enthusiasm for life, love of God, and passion for youth made her the perfect candidate for the job. YCOG’s leadership and church family are delighted with God’s plan!

Stay connected and tuned in to see what God is doing at the church and in the community. It’s going to be exciting!
